Security cameras only protect you if the footage is usable when you need it. If your system is more than a few years old, watch for these warning signs.
1. You cannot identify faces or plates
Older analog cameras often record at low resolution. Modern IP cameras capture far more detail, which makes footage useful to police and insurers.

2. Night footage is dark or blurry
Current night-vision and low-light cameras produce clear images after dark, when most incidents happen.
3. You cannot view cameras from your phone
Remote viewing lets you check on your property from anywhere and get alerts when something happens.
4. There are blind spots
Businesses grow and layouts change. A fresh site survey often reveals entrances, parking areas or stock rooms with no coverage.
5. The recorder keeps failing
Ageing DVRs and hard drives fail without warning. Upgrading to a modern NVR or cloud recording protects your footage.
If two or more of these sound familiar, it is worth booking a free assessment.
